All About Eve Dance Academy opened its doors in September 2014, in a mirrored studio in the Superflex Gym, Upton.

Miss Eve, the Principal, began developing her own love of dance at the age of four and, even though it started as a hobby, she soon realised it would feature prominently in her future career. Over the years she has trained with the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA) taken and passed many exams, and been nominated for the IDTA Theatre Awards (scholarships) on several occasions. Miss Eve took part in dance competitions from the age of four, and won the North Yorkshire Senior Modern Champion title two years in a row.

At the age of fourteen Miss Eve began her teacher training and is an Associate in Ballet, Tap, and Modern Jazz, gaining Honours in all three subjects.

 Aged just seventeen, Miss Eve won a place at Phil Winston’s Theatre Works (a renowned dance college in Blackpool) where she was able to follow her passion for dance and receive professional training. This led to stints performing in shows at the ‘Pleasure Beach’, and contracts with Qdos and First Family Productions, companies that provide the professional dancers for pantomimes around the country.

Following these valuable experiences, Miss Eve successfully auditioned to dance on cruise ships and for many years travelled the world doing what she loves. She became dance Captain for the Celebrity cruises before deciding it was time to lead a more settled life.

As well as having her own dance school, Miss Eve teaches for three other dance organisations, and has also been the Dance tutor for the Wakefield Theatre Royal Academy for the last four years. She most recently had the opportunity to assist with their production of ‘Cats’. She is DBS checked and has First Aid training.

Miss Eve’s aims as a dance teacher are to build pupils’ self-confidence and improve their dance skills in classes that provide the appropriate balance of discipline and enjoyment. She is keen to pass on her considerable knowledge from the years of experience gained from performing professionally. She strives to nurture her pupils and support them whether they wish to dance as a hobby, or pursue it as a possible career path.
